Did you know that 25 to 50% of the children evaluated during our hearing screening activities do not hear optimally?
Mild hearing loss, often undiagnosed, can impair academic learning and language development. Otitis can also create hearing loss that is usually temporary. In addition, they can give the impression that the child is inattentive.
Restricted access to vocabulary in the presence of hearing loss can affect cognitive development.
It is relevant to do hearing screening annually, because some problems such as fluid in the cavity of the middle ear or a wax plug can reappear. The middle ear is the place where fluid accumulates that forms ear infections.
